People at work

These films follow real people through real working days. Candidates watch them to see what it is actually like to work somewhere, before they decide to apply.

Films we make for recruiting

Recruitment videos are made to show candidates who they would be working with and what the work is really like. Here are three that could help your company.

The careers video

This film is for the careers page. It shows the company as a place to work, through the people who work there, and it is the film a candidate watches before deciding whether to apply.

The team video

This film is for one team that is hiring. It follows the people in that team through a normal day, so a candidate for the role sees the colleagues, the work and the vibe before the first interview.

The day-in-the-life video

This film is about one person at the company that candidates would want to work with. A senior engineer, a founder, a researcher people already know of. A documentary about them says who you would learn from, and that pulls talent in a way a job ad never will.

Other films we make

If a recruitment video is not what you need, these are the others we make. Hiring in Germany? We also make recruiting videos in German.

Everything you get with the film

You commission one film and receive everything below, with the rights to use all of it on your careers page, in job ads and on job portals.

How a film gets made

Our recruitment video production runs in four steps, from the first conversation to the finished film.

01

The conversation

You tell us who you are hiring, what the work is like and the budget you have. We tell you honestly what it can get you, and you get a fixed quote before anything starts.

02

Research

We talk to the teams involved and find the people who will be on camera. We plan the filming day so it barely disturbs the work, and you approve the plan before the cameras roll.

03

Filming

We film a normal working day with a small crew. The interviews are conversations, not scripted answers, and nobody is asked to smile for the camera.

04

The edit

We edit the film from the interviews, you see two cuts, give notes, and the finished version is delivered in the format you need.

The crew

Josiah Mcgarvie, Ida Bechtle and Guillermo Lopez, the team behind Cult.Repo. They have spent years filming the people who built the modern web. Berlin Film House is the same crew, making documentaries for companies.

Frequently asked questions

What does a recruitment video cost?

Pricing depends on filming days, locations and length. Tell us your budget in the first call and we will tell you honestly what it can get you. Then you get a fixed quote, so there are no surprises.

Do recruitment videos actually help hiring?

Yes, when they work as proof. Not a montage of office perks, but real employees talking about real work, filmed the way a documentary would be. Candidates believe it because nobody could have scripted it.

Our employees are camera-shy. Does it still work?

Yes, and it is the normal case. We work with conversations instead of scripts, so there are no lines to remember. After ten minutes most people forget the camera, and those are the moments that make the film credible.

How long should a careers video be?

Two to three minutes. Long enough for a candidate to meet the people, short enough that they watch it to the end.

What is the difference between an employer branding video and a recruitment video?

An employer branding video shows what the company is like as an employer. A recruitment video is made for specific roles or teams. Both come from the same kind of shoot, with a different edit.

Can we use the video in job ads and on job portals?

Yes. You receive the film with full usage rights, for the careers page, job portals, social media and fairs.

Got a story worth filming?

Tell us what it is and who it is for. We read every message and reply ourselves.
